Background

The client is a medium-sized Brazilian steel plant. In order to standardize the process, promote the development of asset management, and achieve asset visibility, the client decided to introduce UHF RFID technology.

Solution

The client adopted an RFID asset management solution based on the V8 UHF handheld terminal. The solution integrates RFID technology to manage the fixed assets of the steel plant. RFID electronic tags are attached to the assets. Workers use V8 UHF RFID readers at the entrance and exit and in the factory. In this way, comprehensive visibility and information updates of assets are achieved on the real-time data monitoring platform, such as real-time positioning of equipment, mobile tracking records of equipment, alarms, etc. In addition, equipment management statistics and report generation can be easily performed to help the steel plant establish an advanced and standardized asset management mechanism.
